Introduction
Rathlin Run was established in 2002 by Raleigh International Northern Ireland as a major fundraising event for Youth Development. Over the few years it has received a highly positive response from the athletes and people in the area. Each year the event has developed both in numbers of participants and in the presentation of the experience. The Rathlin Run is more than just a very challenging road race but an experience! It is a package that combines the distinctive character of island life and its community with the infused energy of the athletes.

Fundraising
Belfast Activity Centre is a registered charity (X0203/90) that aims to engage young people aged 14-25 from all backgrounds in holistic long-term programmes that provide them with the opportunity to explore and advance their personal and social development, mainly through the medium of Adventure Learning and Outdoor Activity. BAC works with young people with a broad range of physical and learning disabilities; young people at risk of social exclusion; unemployed people who face multiple barriers to employment; and detached young people. Further information at www.belfastactivitycentre.com

Rathlin Run is organised as a fundraising event to help Belfast Activity Centre continue to develop their valuable work with young people from across Northern Ireland. This event is entirely organised by volunteers so all proceeds from the race after expenses go directly to the centre’s work.
